Ferme Equestre Cavalus

Welcome to CAVALUS

Horse lovers, dancers and anyone in need of a refuge from life's noise and stress will revel in the peaceful yet convivial ambiance of Ivan and Nien Mari's mountain gîte and horse farm.
Perched on a forested mountainside with a superb view of the snow-capped peaks, the century-old farmhouse was restored by Ivan, who has been breeding Mérens horses since 1981 and Castillon horses since 1985. (You'll hear them whinny a greeting when you arrive.)
For the past 15 years, Ivan has been organising and guiding mountain horseriding treks with his own horses through the most beautiful and challenging areas of the Pyrenees.

Nien Mari is a dancer/choreographer and teaches New Dance and Contact Improvisation. She also creates highly original programs that combine horseriding and Body-Mind Centering.

la ferme Cavalus

The vast plateau adjacent to the farm is used for horseriding, dance and picnics and can be the point of departure of numerous walks and rides.

The gîte can accommodate up to 12 persons in simple but comfortable rooms of 1,2,3 or 6 beds with a shared bathroom. Meals are taken together around a large wooden table indoors or on a shaded terrace and are the occasion to meet people from many horizons but all sharing a love for horses, the mountains or dance.

By reservation off-season :
