WELCOME TO CAVALUS :
For all horse treks…
participants need to be in good health and comfortable with the 3 gaits of the horse.
Level 1: mastering the three gaits
Level 2: experienced rider
Level 3: very experienced rider with mountain experience
Minimum age: 16 (unaccompanied), 12( with an adult)
Details about the trecks can be provided if you wish.
All fees include: 4-6 hours of riding per day, full board, (picnic at lunch), nights in private hostels (2- 6-bed rooms) or tents, luggage transfer (unless otherwise indicated), equipped horse and guide.
Each participant is responsible for his/her horse and will participate in taking care of it.
PLEASE BRING...
A sleeping bag, solid shoes suitable for riding as well as hiking, mini- chaps, rainwear, a camping water bottle, flashlight, sun protection, swimming clothes, personal pharmacy. A camping mattress, for the nights in tents.
HOW TO GET TO CAVALUS:
BY CAR :
(Ca.150 km, 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. drive from Toulouse)
Leave Toulouse on the highway to Montpellier /Barcelona. Exit Pamiers (new A 66), continue towards Foix, Tarascon, then further to St.Girons over the Col de Port to Massat. Continue to Biert. At Biert, turn right at the church to follow the D18 leading up towards the "Col de la Crouzette". OR: From Toulouse take the A64 direction Tarbes, get off at exit 20 for St Girons, then follow the D618 towards Massat. At Biert, turn left and take D18 for Col de la Crouzette. Arriving at a split road after 3 km (signs: CAVALUS) continue downhill towards the left. Having crossed the river, you’ll climb and turn for another 2 kms, keep following the road straight ahead, until you pass through a hamlet called Besset. Don’t give up yet : two more turns, and you‘ll arrive in front the farm.

BY TRAIN :
From Toulouse-Matabiau (Central Station) train to St.Girons.
Change at Boussens, to the connecting SNCF-Bus to St. Girons, «Place des Capôts» (terminal) (about 1,5 hours, 15 )
BY BUS :
Direct Bus (CAP Antras) from Toulouse Bus station (« Gare Routière », right next to Central Station) to St. Girons "Place des Capôts"( terminal).
About 2 hours, 15, tickets sold by the driver).
BY PLANE :
At your arrival at Toulouse- Blagnac Airport, take a ticket for the « Navette », shuttle-bus to Toulouse-Matabiau Central Station (about 6, 60 min. trip). From there continue as above. Or fly into Carcassonne via Ryan Air (ryanair.com) from which there are frequent trains to Toulouse.
TAXI St.Girons - Cavalus:
A Taxi can be reserved by us for the arrival days at 5.30 pm at "Place des Capôts". Please call us in advance at 05 61 96 94 81.
Fee: 35/person, 20/person for groups of 2-4.

OUR MEALS are varied and often vegetarian. The evening meal includes table wine.
ARRIVAL: at 6 pm for supper (if not mentioned otherwise)
DEPARTURE: around 4 pm (if not mentioned otherwise)
SUPPLEMENT for single bedroom: 10 /night (please reserve!)
